What is it that I’m racing after?
Asked the little drop
And sat down to think it over
On the leaf on which it stopped
Eagerly they fall to earth
Eagerly they chase
But don’t they ever question
What’s the outcome of the race?
Don’t they see that once again
They will sink into the ground
Make their way through thousand rivers
Till the ocean they have found?
And once more they will transform
Rising high above the sea
Feeling happiness together
Thinking once more they are free
Why do they choose to suffer so
For the few uncertain hours
That they float above the world
When at last again they shower?
Is it not a silly cycle
To repeat eternally
Not to ever search for answers
That would set a raindrop FREE?
